THE SALTY PIG @ 130 Dartmouth St, Boston, MA
So we went to The Salty Pig for dinner. The atmosphere is that of a fairly nice modern pizzeria with a bit of a twist – they have a nice selection of their own meats and cheeses available as appetizers as well as toppings. We had a party of eight. Parking was easy for dinner as the parking garage directly across the street has $10 parking after 5PM until 8AM. A great deal considering the prices of parking in the area during the day.
The waitress was helpful in picking out the cheese and meat platter as well as the beer on draft. She made a suggestion on the Chorizo and a cheese that was very similar to Cheddar. I wish the portions were bigger as we all tried very small pieces of each cheese and meat to just get a taste before we were out. The beer we ended up selecting was the Evil Twin imperial stout. A beer not for the faint of heart – a dark and delicious heavy stout with a fairly refreshing aftertaste.
My favorite part was the Salty Pig Pizza, which had several meats and arugula – I had them add the house sausage to it and it was great. It was big enough for two, but a hungry person could totally kill it off 🙂

Our party also split some cheese and meat platters. They tasted great but were not worth the price when compared to the amount of meat and cheese on the plate. The bread was over toasted by a mile, maybe some people like it like this, but i thought it was a big no no. The plate also came with fresh mustard and pickles.
FINAL: I give this place a B+. I feel like the pizza was the ‘best deal’ on the menu. The beer selection is very decent. The wine selection is great if you are into this kind of thing. The meats and cheeses are delicious but not worth the money.
